Welcome
Hi, on this page I shall put a small number of my photographs. The intention is just to give a taster of the things I find interesting. As something new arrives it will normally push an older picture off, but not always.
I love photography, especially the outdoors it gives me and the dog a good excuse to get out and about even when the weather is not at its best.
If you want to pause the progress of the slide-show just put your cursor over the picture. To hide the caption click “Hide Caption” just above the picture and move the mouse over the picture, take as long as you like to study the picture.
I love to look at the world on it's many differing levels but there are a few which come up time and again, this is one. Close enough to see the detail, without the distractions of the wild wondrous random madness of the world.
Catkins are another sign of springs arrival everything starts to grow life is renewed. Simply lovely........
I love the realisation that spring has arrived that comes with the Cherry Blossom. The flowers last such a short time; blown away by the strong winds or decimated by the hail and heavy rain. It does not matter in the few days they last my spirits are lifted and a new cycle begins.
This particular picture was taken in our back garden within the first few days of the blossom starting to open. The problem being the tree was being blown around in the high wind. - Will the flowers still be there tomorrow?
Just the window of a small local shop called Lavender Grey but someone has clearly got an eye for what goes together.
A few older pieces along with a few new bits, delicate shades of grey, lavender and other colours. A modern cotton cover and an antique silver tumbler on a small cheep round table in the corner; designer chic or a pile of rubbish?
I set out to get the moss on this wall in sharp focus and the background all out of focus. Then as I was looking I realised the grasses old and new made a great abstract pattern and the picture changed in an instant.
How often do we fight to get something only to realise it was not what we wanted?
The autumn is another of my favourite times the golden browns, oranges, yellows and reds all catch the late sunshine and make the world look different interesting. This has nothing to do with this picture which is simply an echo of that autumn but at least the golden browns still remain through the winter with a promise of the sprint to come.
This picture was taken on an old ridgeway road, not far from home, one of the few places in today's world where a dog can be left to run around without fear of car or motorbikes, at least it should be if both weren't driven by a few on places where motorised transport is banned.
All the detail is almost lost in the mayhem, branches, grasses and reeds all fighting to provide the detail and depth.
